You Make the Difference
Without you, the Bridging the Gap Gift Mart is just a name. It’s the generosity of our community—businesses, schools, churches, teams, and individuals—that turns compassion into action. Together, we’re providing a hand-up to families in the Old Town area and restoring hope, one family at a time.
The Gift Mart gives parents the dignity of choosing holiday gifts for their children—priced at just $1, $3, or $5, thanks to your donations. Every dollar collected supports our Backpack Program at Old Town Elementary, feeding food-insecure students on weekends and creating lasting sustainability.
With your help, we aim to collect 1,000+ toys in 2025, blessing over 100 families through your kindness and willingness to pay it forward.
Join the Movement – Host a Toy Drive!
Toy collections are due by Wednesday, December 3!
This gives us time to get everything ready for setup on Friday, December 5.
1. Get the word out. Tell your employees,
co-workers and friends.
We can provide you with a flyer template and ideas to help make your toy drive successful and fun as well as get you as much information as you want (or need) to get the word out.
2. Set a timeframe and a place where you will collect the toys
Allow two weeks to bring in toys and send out lots of fun progress reminders prior to the due date. Remember, the amount collected doesn’t matter, whether it’s 2, 20 or 200 – each toy is important and adds to our final goal.

FAQs
What will the Gift Mart look like?
1) Parents and children will arrive and check themselves and their children in. 2) Parents will go to shop at the Gift Mart while their child goes to the craft area to make a gift for their family. 3) Parents and children will be reunited after the parent finishes shopping with all of their gifts wrapped and ready to go under their tree. 4) Snacks and drinks will be available to make the experience even more festive.
What can you do to help?
Get your organization, friends and family involved. Most organizations are continually looking for ways to “give back” to the community, especially around the holidays. The Bridging the Gap Gift Mart is a great way to do that. No matter how small or large your organization is, by sponsoring a toy drive and asking each member to donate a toy or two, we can continue to provide a hand-up, rather than a hand-out, to families in the Old Town area. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated.
How can you help?
* Get your office, school, team, organization or neighbors to hold a toy drive. *Volunteer to work the day of the event.
